Craig Stewart- Blue Straggler

About:

British DJ and producer Craig Stewart-- also known as one half of the legendary deep and soulful house tandem, Montana & Stewart-- as well as head honcho of two two very fine labels, DCSTrax and Universe Music, has just released "Blue Straggler" with three remixes from Ghostn Otez (aka. Ghostnotez), Spanish producer, Ruyman Mas, and Hungarian soundsmith Cave Sedem.

Sounds Like:

Craig's original mix of "Blue Straggler" offers something simple, yet something valuable on the dance-floor. Topped-off with a familiar vocal loop, this track keeps the groove steady all through out the entire 6:35 minutes which gives it high dance-value. Not just that, its flanged chords, haunting strings, punchy drums,  and deep bass are aspects of "Blue Stragger" to look forward to.

Ghostnotez also keeps things simple with his own reinterpretation of "Blue Stragger". The Ghostnotez remix is a nice and neat deep house track characterized by its dominant analogue bass and  big-room chords. On the other hand, the Ruyman Mas remix does not deviate far from that of Ghostnotez's. Also for the main rooms, the remix all the way from Canary Islands caters a deep and menacing vibe!

Cave Sedem's remix may be the last on the list but it definitely is not the least! Bordering on tech house, Sedem's work gives this release a powerful close.

Recommendation:

"Blue Stragger" is rather a straightforward tune accompanied by superb remixes from budding producers around the world. It is without a doubt that the original mix is a sure favorite, but among the remixes, we have to give it to Cave Sedem for ingeniously transforming the tune into an after-hours club floor-filler!
