[Insider's Review] Gabor Deutsch Feat. N'dea Davenport- Love With Desire (Ricky Inch Remixes)

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Estonia's Ricky Inch made two special remixes just for Gabor Deutsch and N'dea Davenport's "Love With Desire", which was officially released worldwide last April 18. Last week, we were able to get in touch with the man behind the two highly-acclaimed remixes for "Love With Desire"-- Ricky Inch.

The original release peaked in the Traxsource Top 40 singles chart weeks before the worldwide release date, while Ricky Inch's newly-found sound, the nu:soul remix, reached top 30 of track sales on the said music portal. Ricky indicates that the nu:soul remix of "Love With Desire" was also included in the Dublife Miami sampler which may have probably hindered the remix in reaching a higher placement due to splitting of sales.

For the special Ricky Inch nu:soul remix, Ricky stated that his new sound is a combination of his trademark lightly-glazed deep one combined with a sound he has been exploring lately-- nu-disco. The Ricky Inch dub mix, however, is something that preserves the essence of the original track while effortlessly incorporating Inch's trademark sound. In addition to this, Ricky Inch emphasizes:
There are times a remix by an artist sounds different from the original, and some people may like it, and some may not. But for me, it does not really matter because the most important thing for me is that the final result of the remix must be something good for the remixer and the original artist. If people like it, then it's good. There are also people who may not like it, and I have understood that fact long before already.
For Inch, there is no point in coming up with a remix that sounds similar to the original already. When accepting remix duties, it's always better to put in something different for the package rather than making something that sounds like the other remixes.

Music consumers, in Ricky's opinion, give importance to variation when it comes to releases and remixes, which is why he is pushing forward a diversified sound in the music scene. "Although, of course, every artist is entitled to his own opinion," Ricky follows up.
