Various Artists- The Flavor Saver EP Vol. 8

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

About:

Staying consistently to its house music roots while openly embracing the evolving styles in the ever-growing music industry is what Salted Music does best. Established by the iconic music producer and DJ, Miguel Migs, Salted Music has garnered its place as one of the well-known house music labels in the world-- both in name and in sound.

Featuring the sounds of Thor, James Dexter, Arco, and Franco de Mulero, "The Flavor Saver EP" Volume 8 is a palette of definitive tunes from both new and old artists on the label that further solidifies the fresh, groovy, and eclectic sounds of Salted Music!

Sounds Like:

First in the release is the intoxicating deep-tech and vintage-sounding track from Thor, "Underground Sound (Git Dowichazz)". Next up is the smooth-flowing classic house track from James Dexter, "Give Me Something"--  the vocal snippets, rhodes, and the bustling snare-clap interplay really get the groove on!

Coming in with higher energy and intensified groove, "Don't Hold Back" by Arco really is one floor-filler! Of course, expect more rhode slicks, body-moving bass, and a fantastic snare roll on this one. "Soul Mood Mallorca" may be the last track in this release, but it definitely is not the least. . . Franco De Mulero brings this release to a close with a dazzling array of soul-shaking sounds straight from the Balearic Islands!

Recommendation:

If you're a house music DJ and you're reading this review, get this release right now. You'll never know-- The Flavor Saver Vol. 8 may just save your life one day. . .

Scope- Fundamentals EP

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Night Drive Music is a Germany-based house music label that has been the driving force behind several underground, deep, and groovy acts since 2004. The label, together with its sub-labels, 2600 Records, 3rd Wave Music, Cosmic Playroom, Neurotron Music, and Third Wave Black, houses more than a hundred releases from artists like Sebastian Davidson, Mr. Jones, The Disclosure Project, Soul Minority, Aki Bergen and Da Funk.

"Fundamentals EP" is the first vinyl release of Ric McClelland aka. Scope on the label. The vinyl release was held a few weeks back, and digital copies has already hit stores worldwide! With influences from Chicago and Detroit house music, Fundamentals EP is a musical journey back to the grassroots of dance music.

Break it Down (Original Mix)
The first track is a result of pouring together groovy basslines, infectious chord progressions, and vocal-led fillers! If you need something to start those legs movin old-school style, then "Break it Down" is what you want. Let's break it down like this!

Talamanca (Original Mix)
Something bass-led as the second installment in "Fundamentals EP". Aside from the head-nodding basslines and laidback pads, expect crunchy hi-hats, rightly-timed vocal bits, and livening strings for a change!

Motor City (Original Mix)
Of course, the third release carries the trademark sound of Detroit house music-- reverbed swaying chords, bustling percussion, deep techno-influenced pads, sky-reaching strings, filtered vocal snippets, and body-moving bass! Well, if you're keen enough, you'll realize that the title, "Motor City" gives it away.

Scope's "Fundamentals EP" is out now! You can preview and purchase the release from the Beatport Player below. If you want to have your hands on the vinyl release, head over to Night Drive Music's website for details.
