Evren Ulusoy- Chord Interrupted

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Evren Ulusoy, a name known to all deep house connoisseurs, is responsible for this latest release, Chord Interrupted EP, on the one and only Night Drive Music! In their efforts to bring to life the true essence of the track, producers Matt Masters, Pawas, and Jon Silva put together their own reinterpretations of Chord Interrupted-- all superbly produced and lined-up.

Chord Interrupted (Original)
Evren's original take is an intricate piece bringing forth clearly-combined deep house chords, tropical-inspired percussion and flutes, as well as a melancholic piano progression. Indulge your ears in deep and rich sound with Evren Ulusoy's Chord Interrupted!

Chord Interrupted (Matt Masters Club Mix)
Matt Masters strips down the energy a bit for his remix and introduces a tech makeover to Chord Interrupted. In his attempt to create a club-tailored version, Matt puts together looping piano samples, dark edgy chords, and metallic percussion. This is the first of two remixes from Matt Masters.

Chord Interrupted (Pawas Remix)
Germany-based producer Pawas Gupta goes groovy on Chord Interrupted. Its flawlessly combined deep and groovy elements allows Chord Interrupted (Pawas Remix) to be dropped in any dance-floor far and wide. For groove and deep junkies, this one's for you!

Chord Interrupted (Matt Masters Sunset Mix)
Second remix from Matt Masters is this Matt Masters Sunset Mix. This time around, the remix contains downtempo elements and hazy make-up.

Chord Interrupted (Jon Silva's Bat Country Mix)
Jon Silva hails from Germany is a deep house producer and director for a label called Pesto Music. Like Matt Masters, Jon drops two unique remixes for the package! First off is Jon Silva's Bat Country Mix-- expect stubby basslines and a laidback vibe on this one!

Chord Interrupted (Jon Silva's Tahrir Mix)
For his second remix, as well as the last on this release, Jon Silva packs in something surprising for all his listeners. That's right-- going back to the past to relive that infectious stab-play, Silva's Tahrir Mix caters riffs that will definitely keep you dancing until you drop!

Vipul Angirish feat. Jasbir Jassi- Indian in San Juan

Monday, March 21, 2011

Have you ever tried crossing-over groovy and Latin-influenced sounds with homegrown Indian elements? Well, you are about to hear a stunning brainchild of it: Wind Horse Records just released its third release from New Delhi-based DJ and producer, Vipul Angirish. Moreover, expect some contemporary Punjabi vocals from Jasbir Jassi as well as tight remixes from Vinayak A and Hamza!

Indian in San Juan (Original Mix)
As mentioned, the original mix, "Indian in San Juan" brings together the East and the West with its effortlessly-concocted fusion sound! Prepare yourselves for some Latin heat topped off with echoing Punjabi vocals from Jasbir Jassi. Oh and not to mention, watch out for the bass!

Indian in San Juan (Dub  Mix)
Toning down the vocals a bit, this Dub mix belongs to the dance-floors! Less vocals, more instrumental-emphasis-- that's how it goes.

Indian in San Juan (Vinayak A Remix)
Vinayak A, one of the veterans in the Indian house music scene, tightens-up the original to drop a more powerful remix! Take this tune anywhere, and it will definitely do you good.

Indian in San Juan (Hamza Mix)
Wind Horse head honcho, Hamza takes remix duties for "Indian in San Juan". Hamza rounds up his remix with soulful rhodes, filtered vocal snippets, wind instruments, plus an upbeat jazzy make-up! So sophisticated this is-- the Hamza Remix of "Indian in San Juan" brings this release to a proper close!
