Montana & Stewart- Love is the Key

Tuesday, January 3, 2012

About:

Johnny Montana and Craig Stewart are back to heal the world with their brand-new chart-topping soulful house release, "Love is the Key"! Signed under Universe Media, the UK-based label managed by Martina Lancaster herself, "Love is the Key" will thaw hearts this season with its line-up of superb remixes from high-profile artists, Richard Earnshaw,  Mark De Clive Lowe, and Clemens Rumpf.

Sounds Like:

If you know how Montana & Stewart does soulful house, you more or less know what to expect  from “Love is the Key”— moonlight-by-the-bay pianos, satin smooth bass, and of course the binding agent: the jazzy feel. The sweet vocals from both Kafele Bandele (also on horn) and Eliki, on the other hand, top-off the production with the final missing ingredient, the human touch.

If it's from Richard Earnshaw it's got to be upbeat, tight, and funky. True enough, Mr. Earnshaw's remix will definitely get you get your dancing shoes on! Mark de Clive-Lowe, UK-based, half-NZ half-Japanese producer also patches up a veteran's work as heard in his soothing remix of "Love is the Key".

Last but definitely not the least is the remix from German producer
Clemens Rumpf, if you like classy piano-led rhythm, house music style, then Celems Rumpf's remix is the perfect one for you!

Recommendation:

Hold on, we're still catching our breath. . . Such a star-studded release this is! So what do we recommend? Once again we have to say everything, but if you really want to know our favorites, or in other words "the tracks that appealed to us the most", then we have to say it is the original and the Richard Earnshaw remix of "Love is the Key"!

Craig Stewart- Stellarium EP

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Picking-up from our last review for British producer, Craig Stewart we now check out his fresh craft from Sophisticate Recordings-- and it is none other than the three-track EP, "Stellarium"! This deepness-drenched EP yields two original tunes from Stewart, "Stellarium" and "Better The Devil" as well as a remix from Sophisticate resident artist, Alex V.

Stellarium
For the first track, we get to hear something steady from Craig Stewart. "Stellarium", although steady in structure, caters some stomping kicks and crisp-sounding snares that keep the groove moving. By the time the track hits the breakdown, spherical flanged samples greet us, and for those who follow Craig's releases often, one can say it's his trademark vibe we feel throughout this tune. Steady, groovy, and fresh, we find Stellarium an ideal track for crucial warm-ups!

Better the Devil
Things get a little more upbeat and groovier as the second track, Better the Devil, takes its place! Head-nodding bass stabs play their part early on as the atmospheric pads start to heat things up for the breakdown. With a track like this, it's not that hard to get those heads bobbing to the rhythm!

Better the Devil (Alex V Remix)
Alex V handles remixing duties for "Better the Devil", and turns it into one night-crawling soundtrack! For this remix, expect deep and very smooth atmosphere as well as heavily-flanged vocalesque samples.

Craig Stewart- Make Me EP

Monday, January 3, 2011

Craig Stewart is known for going on a pursuit with Johnny Montana in perfecting moonlight-inspired deep and soulful house music as heard in their productions and remixes like "Lunar Eyes", "Million to One", and "State of Mind". Make Me EP— Stewart's latest release on Acryl Music is quite different— it is minus Johnny Montana and the soulful vibe, but a plus to the technical and groovy sound of the deep! To celebrate this release, Alex V, Office Gossip, and Acryl Music head honcho, Da Funk also contribute their respective remixes to the package.

Make Me (Original Mix)
The original mix of "Make Me" is an easy-going head-nodding piece from Craig Stewart—definitely a soundtrack perfect for those lazy afternoons!

Do For Love (Original Mix)
A heavily-flanged, strong-riffed piece comes from Craig Stewart as the second track of the release. We get to hear the sharper side of his productions with “Do For Love”.

Do For Love (Alex V Remix)
Tossa del Mar-based, Barcelona-born producer Alex V hooks-up “Do For Love” with a smoother, more elegant, and a more atmospheric approach. This serves as a great alternative to the original!

Make Me (Office Gossip Remix)
Second remix comes all the way from London. In the hands of Office Gossip, “Make Me” turns into a stubby, hazy, and a laidback soundtrack.

Make Me (Da Funk’s Numb Soul Remix)
Dany steps-in with his newest sound-signature, the "Numb Soul". For this last remix on the release, Da Funk surprises us with trademark thick and stubby basslines, gray and chilled atmosphere, as well as echoing and haunting melodies. This track draws the release to a silencing close.

Make Me EP, together with its marvelous remixes from Alex V, Office Gossip, and Da Funk, is now available for purchase! Head over to your favorite download portal and support this release!
