Jesus Pablo & Adam Brass- Jet Lag

Friday, June 29, 2012

About:

Early in June, Liverpool's Jesus Pablo, together with Polish DJ and producer Adam Brass stops over iRecords with the four-track release, "Jet Lag"! It's not actually the first time these guys have worked together for a release. Back in March, "Fashion People" by Jesus and Adam has hit the shelves courtesy of Draft and received remixes from Aartekt and Robot Needs Oil. This time around, "Jet Lag" garners remixes from Montreal-based deep house project, House Riders , French producer Kirby, and Swiss soundsmith Patrick Podage.

Sounds Like:

It's all about lush chords, resonating pianos and the punchy percussion for the original mix of "Jet Lag". Not to mention, this original mix by Jesus Pablo and Adam Brass gives off this mind-levitating feel guided with some vocal hooks and some subtle rhodes. The first remix comes from House Riders with their remix dubbed as, "House Riders Montreal to Paris Remix". Taking on rather a more organic approach to "Jet Lag", the House Riders remix puts together some nice, simple, yet groovy brass leads to top things off.

Kirby's reinterpretation is aimed towards the darker dance-floors. With heavy kick drums in line, cowbells, deep vocals, and a massive chunk of gloomy atmospheric pads, this remix will definitely reach the main rooms in no time!

Last but definitely not the least is Patrick Podage's remix of "Jet Lag". Still pretty much, deep, groovy, while at the same time light on the ear. The best part in this remix is when the smooth rhodes join in and perfectly blend with the snappy, shuffling percussion.

Recommendation:

For the first few listens, our instant favorites were the original mix and the House Rider's remix, but upon further listening, the Kirby and the Patrick Podage remixes started to grow on us too, and made us realize that these too were something special.

Having said that, we recommend getting all four tunes from this release!

Josef Belani- Aurora / Dom

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Last week, Spain's 19-year old producer, Josef Belani showed the world what he is capable of. His release, "Aurora / Dom EP" stomped listeners with its massive sounds, and thanks to Nellie Recordings, a Sweden based progressive house label, Josef's sounds have reached millions around the globe. It is of much pleasure to be writing this review for one of the scene's upcoming artists, Josef Belani!

Kicking off with a bang, "Aurora" puts on a show with a heartwarming piano-led drop, while following it up with some high-energy riffs. If you, however, think that you still crave for more banging big-room energy, wait for the second track!

"Dom" is next. A massive floor-filler, "Dom"  seriously embodies the sound we have been exploring this year-- colossal, crowd-pumping, and simply genial! Aside from which, this second and last track is also the type of track that when played in a rave, raises the hands of people and let them play keyboards in the air.

So yes, "Aurora / Dom EP" is out now on your favorite online record stores. Be sure to support this release because Josef Belani  is the future of the big-room progressive house scene-- and we are certain of that!

Claes Rosen- Grenadines

Friday, August 27, 2010

It's been a while since we last heard from the "man of melodies", Claes Rosen. Well, it may have been quite a wait, but with his latest release on Silk Music, "Grenadines"-- the wait was surely worth it! In addition, accompanying Rosen's release are remixes from fellow progressive house producers, B.O.N.G. and Oleg Izergin.

Grenadines (Original Mix)
We know it's a Claes craft when we hear it! For this one, we have our ears feast on his ever-groovy basslines, his chill and poignant piano climax, and not to mention, his echoing leads similar to the ones in "Delirious". Always having ear for very melodic tracks, Claes Rosen provides us with another delightful sunny day soundtrack-- "Grenadines".

Grenadines (B.O.N.G. Remix)
Argentine producer, Juan Carlos Villaba, or simply put B.O.N.G. is one of the most-sought progressive house producers this year! His grounding basslines and warm atmosphere always find a place to belong to.

Grenadines (Oleg Izergin Remix)
A Swedish, an Argentine, and for the third and last artist on the roster, we have a Ukrainian producer. Claes is known for his melodies, Oleg, on the flipside, is known for his very lush and atmospheric sound. Taking "Grenadines" to higher ground, Izergin gives the release package a heightened close!

It's good to see producers make a come-back with fresh releases! Claes, B.O.N.G., and Oleg Izergin have once appeared on Soundscapes, and having them once again is of great pleasure!
