Zas & Sanze presents Mindgamers- Hold You

Monday, August 6, 2012

About:

No fancy stuff, no cheese, just pure tech music from Zas & Sanze as they present yet another main room floor-filler on Bonzai Progressive as Mindgamers entitled, " Hold You"! Bonzai Progressive made sure that this release gets proper remixes, hence a remix from Stefano Noferini, one of the hottest names in the scene right now (yes, we would like to emphasize that), and another from fellow-Bonzai artist and veteran electronic musician, Fab Code.

Sounds Like:

As expected from the original: heavy kicks bulldozing their way throughout the track and deep grinding bass that gives way to the intoxicating vocal loop. Prepare yourselves to keep grooving throughout the entire 6:59 minutes of "Hold You"!

First remix in line is from one of Italy's finest, Stefano Noferini. The irresistible groovy stab-bass interplay make this track gold. Aside from that, its massive breakdown definitely is a bonus!

Fab Code starts his remix with a neat arrangement of punchy percussion and solid kicks, which then progresses into a deep, head-nodding tune. Fab Code's remix, although a bit laying low when it comes to energy, still is a track for the dance-floor: high dance-value, good groove.

Recommendation:

"Hold You", in all its forms, is a release we wouldn't think twice in playing in a main room event. If you are a techno and tech house DJ, these tracks should be a staple in your sets!

David Herrero Remixed

Saturday, December 17, 2011

About:

Four brand new remixes of world-renowned Spanish DJ and producer, David Herrero have finally been released special thanks to ALMA Soul Music! Enjoy David Herrero's "Gimme Somebody" as it gets its remixed, not once, but thrice! We've got Siwell, Vozmediano, and Scan Mode on the remixes of the said track while co-label owner, Javier Varez pulls off a stunning remix on David Herrero & Sergio Parrado's "Delnorte".

Sounds Like:

First up is Siwell's "Gimme Somebody"-- expect a pumping tech house reinterpretation from Italian techno authority, Luigi "Siwell" Poggiani! Vozmediano's on the other hand is a vintage-sounding piece topped up with synth bass and a wonderful melodic pianos. The third and last remix for "Gimme Somebody" falls onto the hands of Alberto Sanchez, also a Spanish producer more known as Scan Mode, and the result is this heavy industrial-oriented deep and tech tune!

Something dark, groovy, and vocoder-lead, the Javier Varez remix of "Delnorte" is a rare concoction that showcases the darker side of Javier's sound.

Recommendation:

"David Herrero Remixed" greets us with a range of diversified mixture of electronic dance genres. This release also is something different, as mentioned earlier-- quite a drift from the usual ALMA Soul Music style, but they were still able to pull it off! For our favorite tracks, they are Siwell's remix on "Gimme Somebody" and Javier's remix of "Delnorte".

Deeper Manila is proud to bring out another stunning tech house release by a veteran in the local industry! Cyril Sorongon, better known as Silverfilter, is one of Manila’s finest and well-seasoned electronic music artists, and simply having him on-board once again proves that the label’s vision to push further the scene is still strong.

The Jap” brings to the surface sounds from underground from Manila to Pordenon as remixes from MicFreak, X-Cite & Gift, Justin de Guzman, and the Italian deep-tech duo, Aerodynamic Xpress see light.

In contrast to the former remixes, X-Cite & Gift assemble a rough-rolling craft as their remix. Last but definitely not the least is the spectacular rendition by Deeper Manila head-honcho, Justin de Guzman, dubbed as the “Finish Me” remix-- expect something different from this one!

On to the remixes: first we have a remix from the Italian duo Aerodynamic Xpress, expect a pitch-black atmospheric interpretation of the original! DJ X-Cite's remix, on the other hand, carries a handful of elements of the original, but this time, the original gets twisted into a more haunting tune.

For the third remix, Markovskyh Vladyslav, or simply Marc Systematic, puts forth another stunning adrenaline-pumping techno track! For people who still crave for a harder version of Intriphisticated, MicFreak (Michael Cobaria) made sure you guys get to experience one. MicFreak made sure that his remix on Intriphisticated would blow your heads off, guaranteed.

D.J. Generous- Wonder Why

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Play Digital recently released "Wonder Why", a sun-drenched soundtrack from Russia's very own D.J. Generous! Celebrating a bright career as a sound-smith, Dima Jr. Worcestershire, the man behind the guise D.J. Generous, is indeed one of the figures in the scene who-- through his Ibiza-influenced progressive house sound-- had sealed the gap between European and Russian dance music .

For D.J. G's debut on Play Digital, "Wonder Why" spawns remixes and dubs from three prominent names in the industry: Russia's Vladimir "PROFF" Ershov, Canada's Derek "Dezza" Silvester, and Italy's Emiliano "Emijay" Nencioni and Giacomo "G.o.d.i" Godi, the two guys who make music with the guise, Supernova.

Wonder Why (Original Club Vocal / Dub)
When I first found out that D.J. Generous is a Russian producer, I did not think twice in assuming this release as something worth the positive review.

The original versions of Wonder Why really bring out the true feel-good essence of progressive house from its simple yet upbeat basslines to its smooth-sounding arps. Moreover, if you are a fan of the vocal mix, then I am pretty sure you would agree if I say the vocals effortlessly bring things to the brighter side of sound. Having said these, I personally find "Wonder Why" as one of the best vocal progressive house tracks this year.

Wonder Why (Supernova Mix / Use the Chord Mix)
G.o.d.i. and Emijay also takes two for this release, and the result, an energy-packed deep tech rendition! In the "Supernova Use the Chord Mix", Supernova brings in the smooth arp to their craft.

Wonder Why (PROFF Vocal Mix / Dub)
Progressive house heavyweight, PROFF is back to surprise his listeners once again! He kicks his two versions with his trademark sound plus, of course, a remarkable acoustic guitar solo in the breakdown.

Wonder Why (Dezza Vocal Mix / Dub)
Many say these last two tracks are Dezza's best crafts up to date. I have been following Dezza's works in and out of Dezire Records, and I really have to admit his remixes on "Wonder Why" really bring the best out of him! Really lush and mind-levitating sounds from the man can be heard throughout the song, and the soaring super-pads just gave his tracks a heightened close.

Alex Dolby - Long Beach / Cairo

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Hope Recordings has been a key figure in the progressive house scene for more than a decade now. The label is responsible for stunning releases like this one, Alex Dolby's 2008 release-- "Long Beach / Cairo".

The moment I listened to "Long Beach", I felt that I have missed out on a lot of quality music in the past years. The track, having a light and easy-going appeal can make you move unconsciously. Having said these, this luscious, sun-drenched piece is never leaving my playlist.

The darker side of Alex Dolby is unveiled with the second track, "Cairo". With the techno-oriented basslines and melodies, it is quite certain to hear the obvious drift from the upbeat house sound.

With tracks like these, there is no doubt that Hope Recordings is one of the world's most productive labels!
