For this one, expect clean-cut tech and deep house grooves from Alessandro Diga, Phunk Division, and Alfa Rhythm Boys themselves!

Agogo (Original Mix)
The original mix of Agogo is, as mentioned, a clean-cut deep-tech soundtrack from the boys. Very straightforward in its melodies and in its structure, Agogo definitely is a sure shot for DJs who want their tunes simple, deep, and groovy.

Muzzaik feat. Zaida- Work It [Remixes]

Friday, September 3, 2010

Dalmady and Milichovszki are the two guys behind Budapest-based house music project, Muzzaik. They have been working together since 2002, and their tracks have appeared on a number of top-notched labels like Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Toolroom Records, Azuli Records, Spinnin', and Armada Music.

Paying homage to Muzzaik, soulful house producers, N'Dinga Gaba, Dave Mayer, and Ricky Inch each delivers two remixes and instrumentals for the 2006 classic soundtrack with Zaida, "Work It". Moreover, "Work It" is released under Dublife Music and is a Traxsource exclusive release until the 28th of September.

Work It (N'Dinga Gaba Remix / Instrumental)
Opening for the release are the soothing reinterpretations from N'Dinga Gaba. Having a very laid-back atmosphere really brings out the chill-out side of the record.

Work It (Dave Mayer Remix / Instrumental)
After his remix on Dave Strom & Ricky Inch's "I Don't Know", Dave Mayer is back with his hip chord-play and upbeat percussion. Moreover, Dave didn't forget to flawlessly incorporate the original elements of the track: from the sassy trumpet hooks to the guitar solo.

Work It (Ricky Inch Remix / You Got Rhythm Dub)
Of course, where there are groove, soul, and house music, there is Ricky Inch! We once again check out our favorite deep and soulful house artist Ricky as he unveils his takes on this Muzzaik-classic.

Inch starts off his remixes with lively beach-inspired percussions backed with flutes and piano samples. The tracks continue with a wide array of instrumental solos from the different brass instruments, to the fuzzy piano, to the very groovy bassline, and beyond. Ricky Inch's got rhythm, and the man of Estonia closes this release package with two of his undeniably irresistible remixes for "Work It"!

There we have it, Muzzaik's classic, four years later, falls into the hands of three brilliant producers in the scene, and the result-- a fresh set of reinterpretations packed with rhythm, groove, and soulful attitude!

Tom Fall & Something Good- Reflections

Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Finnish producers are at it again! We kick off with a magical tune from Tom Fall and Something Good, "Reflections"-- a proud release from Silk Royal Records! Great surprises are also on their way thanks to remixes from A-list producers, Sundriver and Embliss.

Tom Fallenius, aka Tom Fall may be a new name here on Soundscapes, but he is no newbie in the scene. His track, "Cubic"first appeared on the second installment of the Anjunadeep mixed series and was early on released under Jaytech's Anjunadeep:02 Sampler. If you think "Reflections" is Tom's debut appearance on the label, then you are mistaken. He once took remix duties for Mango's highly-acclaimed release, "Good Morning Track" together with top-notched producers, Sunn Jellie and Sundriver.

Something Good, on the other hand, is already a frequent feature here on Soundscapes. We have been closely following Karolus and Otto's releases since their debut appearance on Nellie Recordings. Aside from which, it was in our exclusive interview with SG that we had been given a hint on this huge release with Mr. Fallenius.

Reflections (Original Mix)
According to Something Good's interview in HouseMusicEssentials, "Reflections" is the very first brainchild of the duo, and was created sometime a year ago. In the process, Tom Fall decided to remix the track for SG. After which, the duo realized that the original piece sounded a bit dated that is why after brainstorming for ideas among the three producers, they all decided to make it a collaboration.

As a whole, the track itself is one driving progressive house piece with explosive kicks to it. However, unlike the recent releases from Something Good and Tom Fall, "Reflections" caters a tranquil Asian-like ambiance. Moreover, listen to the piano climax and you will feel the imprinted Something Good vibe. Tom Fall's sound, on the contrary, is quite evident in the arpeggios. Very mind-levitating and climactic, this original version of "Reflections" is indeed a Finnish masterpiece.

Reflections (Sundriver Remix)
Polish producer, Przemyslaw Pawelski takes remix duties for "Reflections" under the guise Sundriver. His sound-- a melting pot of warm atmosphere and mystic progressive trance melodies-- appears once again on Silk. With this, the Sundriver remix is one beautiful piece that would effortlessly appeal to its listener's emotions.

Reflections (Embliss Remix)
For the closing track of the release, we get to hear a fine remix from Tim Brandwijk, aka. Embliss. Like Sundriver, Embliss is also a familiar face on the label.

The Embliss remix kicks off with echoing vocalesque samples, topped off with a laid-back sound and a lush atmosphere-- another quality release from Tim Brandwijk himself!

Always surprising their listeners, Tom Fall and Something Good present "Reflections"! Support this release today!

I Don't Know (Soul Cola Remix)/ (Soul Cola Saxy Dub)
Hailing all the way from the North, Russian electronic band, Soul Cola steps in for "I Don't Know", leaving two fantastic deep house groovers up for grabs. First is the Soul Cola remix, a track quite impossible not to dance to. Up second is the Saxy dub, a luscious reinterpretation of the former remix with infectious saxophone melodies-- simple

I Don't Know (URH & Rony Breaker Remix)/ (URH & Rony Breaker Dub)
URH and Rony Breaker take two for the release and came up with chilled and stomping tracks-- brilliant!

I Don't Know (Kyka Remix)
The release garners a second upbeat version of "I Don't Know", thanks to Kyka. Something unique in this remix are the manipulation of the vocal track and the incorporation of housey chords.

I Don't Know (Deepbreath & Ricky Inch Remix)
We get to hear a tropical-themed track from Deepbreath and Ricky Inch. Moreover, this particular remix is a melting pot of a pinch of mild, echoing strings, a dash of saxophone samples, a tablespoon of marching bongos, a handful of soulful vocals, a cup of sassy basslines, and a box of chilled chords.

Jolo Eidos- Hidden Emotions / Little Things EP

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Jolo Eidos, is a moniker of two young aspiring Dutch producers, Hoz and Zhiar, and are currently labeled as exclusive artists on the Key Recordings crew.

Having the privilege of living fifteen-minutes away from each other, the guys behind Jolo Eidoshave only been producing music for less than a year; however this is not a valid excuse for them not to be able to create stunning gems. As the third on the label, Hidden Emotions / Little Things EP is definitely a dazzling release.

Brought to life by the delicate piano imprint of Key Recordings, Hidden Emotions is a moonlit wonder. Aside from that, with its composition, the track is highly-emotive, steady, and delightful. Taking another step for the release, Little Things delivers polished basslines, gliding melodies, and of course, that Key-only piano vibe.

With those being said, I believe Hidden Emotions and Little Things truly deserve the Key Recordings stamp of approval on them.

Watch out for the official release of Hidden Emotions / Little Things EP on May 7, 2010 via Key Recordings!
